About Form & Fable

Form & Fable is a new movement in the heart of Dublin, coming to life for the first time in November of this year. Form & Fable has invited passionate and talented makers from the growing community in Ireland to celebrate and amplify the culture of Irish design at this pivotal moment.

The range of talent and high ambition coming out of Ireland’s design community deserves an abundant and ample stage. Each are making to a standard that embodies high design, commitment to material, painstaking making techniques and hard won skill levels. Honest and passionate effort.

Form & Fables’ method is to shout about this abundance: show the skills to people through demonstrations, discussion and workshops. Provide a platform for makers to meet the people who enjoy their commitment and a space for them to meet their buyers and buying public.

This event would not be possible without the equally passionate commitment of IPUT to placemaking and building strong communities where people enjoy living and working.

Mission

Created by Ava and Anike, the mother daughter team behind J. Hill’s Standard - our mission is to build a strong community of makers and designers who can grow through mutual support. To build a lively access to the Irish and in time, the global market. A community of people who are strong individualists making in isolated, but necessary creative solitude but who have a conduit to be in creative conversation with one another.

From conversations come new collaborations, new ideas, new markets. Humans doing what they do best – creating and innovating. Providing access to a curious audience – architects, professional buyers and the public.

Good, honest design answers fundamental human needs to create spaces that matter, to cook, sleep, read, write and live amongst objects that contribute to a dynamic social context but also to provide space to withdraw and to be at peace amongst lasting, honest objects.
